Dr. Kathryn Figer, DO
Internal Medicine & Clinical Aesthetics
Dr. Kathryn Figer founded Selah Skinhäus with a clear intention—to create a space that feels distinctly different from the moment you walk through the door.
A board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Figer brings over a decade of experience caring for medically complex patients in the hospital setting. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin, completed medical school at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and returned to UT Austin for her internal medicine residency. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Throughout her medical career, Dr. Figer developed a deep respect for evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and individualized care—principles that continue to shape her perspective today. Over time, she felt drawn to a more thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to wellness—one that prioritizes confidence, well-being, and quality of life in a more personal setting.
She believes aesthetic medicine should enhance—not alter—natural features, and that excellent results begin with careful listening, education, and sound clinical judgment.
That vision became Selah Skinhäus. She believes the experience of care should feel considered, personal, and unhurried—something increasingly rare in today’s pace of life. At Selah, she has created an environment where time is taken, conversations are meaningful, and each client is approached with thoughtfulness and care.
As founder and medical director, Dr. Figer ensures that standard is upheld across the practice—guiding clinical direction, establishing protocols, and maintaining a level of care that is consistent, thoughtful, and aligned with the experience Selah was created to offer.
Selah was created to offer a pause—something simple, yet often missing. That perspective is shaped not only by Dr. Figer’s experience in medicine, but also by the life she has built with her husband and four young children in Fredericksburg, where time, presence, and care are held with intention.
“There isn’t a formula for beauty. It’s not something that can be created through a single treatment—it’s something that is felt. When someone feels cared for and confident, it naturally shows.”
— Dr. Kathryn Figer, when asked what “beauty is not a problem to be solved” means to her.
Dr. Figer’s Perspective
-
So much of life already feels rushed and impersonal. It was important to create something that feels like the opposite—more thoughtful, more personal, and more at ease.
-
Our approach is different. Rather than focusing on identifying problems to fix, we begin with conversation—taking the time to understand the individual and build a relationship. From there, we develop a plan together. The goal is for each client to leave feeling refreshed and cared for—not as though they’ve simply addressed a concern.
